Here, in our FAQs section you will find some more information on our website template products. Our website templates allow you to choose from pre styled designs for us to base your website on. It is really that easy. If you have any more questions then please feel free to give us a call on 01702 558001.

You have a lot of additional options and add-ons when I go to order my new website - what do I get as part of the basic package?

We aim to get you up online as cheaply and efficiently as possible so as part of the basic package you will get a set of pages as on the demo sites that you can use as you wish. Typically this includes the following:

  • a homepage that includes a frontpage image or photo of your choice
  • a page providing a contact form and your location (check out the 'find directions' functionality that is built in to each site as part of the basic package)
  • 2 other pages that you can use as you wish to describe what you do etc

What happens when I make an order?

Once you have chosen your website design and your colour range we will get in touch with you to gather the information needed to put your site together for you. There will be a range of questions designed to help us help you. If you don’t have a website already or don’t have a domain name (or even if you are not sure what a domain is) we will help you choose.

Most importantly we will do everything for you. In the price.

Do you do all your own designs?

Yes we do. We have a designer in house but we also have a wonderful network of alternative designers who can help us create different looks and feels. We feel that different designers have different styles - which is paramount to ensuring our designs are consistently different and means we are more likely to have a look that suits you.

Will my site show in google?

This is a topical area. We call it our ‘SEO pack’. Unlike many of our competitors we spend a good deal of time putting your site live and ensuring it is configured correctly. As an introductory offer the SEO pack is FREE during the summer of 2011. As part of the standard service the following is included:

  • Set up your page titles, keywords and site descriptions so that when you go live google and the other search engines won't have any trouble finding you.
  • Implement search engine friendly URLs.
  • Register your site with all the relevant search engines and ensure your site is fully verified.
  • Get you verified with google maps (this is currently free)
  • Set you up with google analytics which is the de facto tool for analysing visitors to your site.

What software do I need to use your service?

We are assuming you have found us using the internet which is pretty much it…. editing of your pages can all be done through your internet browser.

You will likely need email if you ever feel a need to email us so if you haven’t got an email we will set email addresses up for you (it’s all in the price). Email is a much better way for us to track progress but we are always available for a phone conversation on 01702 558001?

 

What’s this content management system stuff I keep hearing about?

The content management system is how your site is set up in the background. This is quite different to the traditional way of setting up a website and it means that, if you like, you can have a login to your site so that you can go in and change text on the pages and add extra pages. This is a really powerful concept and you can immediately see how useful this is if for example you would like to publish recent events or news items.

 

I keep reading about blogging – can I do this and is it important?

Blogging is a way of adding regular content to your site. Lots of people do this in different ways – and it is not limited to BBC journalists. You can run a blog on your site about recent news items or recent events or pretty much any subject you can think of

We want you to be able to blog (which is why we make it easy by using a content management system) and you will be pleased to know that google likes it too. Whilst it’s not the be all and end all - if you keep adding and changing content on your home page google will notice it and treat you nicely in the search results

 

What happens if there are changes I need that I cannot do (or do not want to do) myself?

We appreciate that quite often there are changes you would like to make to your site that you are struggling with. We can normally make these changes for you within 1-2 days of the request so send them over. We charge an hourly rate of £20 (minimum £10 for half an hour)

Clearly if you want us to add a shop or forum (or anything else you can think of) to your site then this is going to take a bit longer.

 

If I choose one of your pre-made designs will it be exclusive to me?

No, all our pre-made designs are non-exclusive. You are welcome to make changes to one of our pre-made designs such as a different choice of colour palette (call us on 01702 558001 if you want to talk about this)

If you would like an exclusive design then you might like to consider one of our custom designs

 

I see you are adding designs all the time and there is a new one I like – am I able to change my site to this design?

Normally this is a yes. However, if you have made a lot of changes to your site then it may take a bit of tweaking so we suggest you speak to us first.

 

I am using one of your pre-made designs and would like to go for a custom design instead now – can I do this?

Yes, most definitely.

 

What are your costs?

Our costs are transparent. There are no hidden fees. All of our websites and add-ons are clearly labelled within the shopping area of our site.

 

If I decide to terminate my website agreement, are there any penalty fees?

No, you can end it at any time with no additional fees. Additionally if we manage your domain and you would like to move it away we will also do this for free.

 

Do you arrange hosting and domain names?

Yes – this is a big part of what we do. Our content management systems need specialist server tweaking so we need to host your website in order to give you the best support. You do not need to move your domain to us and all domains will definitely always be in your name.

If you want we can buy your domain for you. All our domain services are priced to compete with the big guns. We do not mark up domains to bump up the costs

What this all means is that we will sort out everything for you relating to your new website. Right through from buying your domain for you, to setting up your emails (and providing guidance on different ways to access your emails) through to putting your site live.
