styling your pages

Written by  administrator

We love this typography stuff at Leon media. We make a lot of noise about the content management features of our websites but this doesn't mean a jot if you cannot effectively add pages and - more importantly - style them in a consistent manner so that people visiting your site experience the same look and feel as they browse throughout your site.

We now install typography styles on all our custom websites

Using a fixed set of styles you can now easily accomplish this and make your pages look stunning without the need to get bogged down in writing html code. This makes it ever more achievable to manage your own site and to update and edit your pages as you wish. And the wonderful thing about hosting your sites with Leon media is that support is always close by.

Using our typography styles depends on having the typography module installed and having the correct jce editor active. If you are unsure about either of these points drop us a line and we will double-check.

Typography has its own set of content styles and can come in a number of varying and diverse formats, ranging from simple text modifications to image insertions to improve the look, layout of your website and give it life. This tutorial will take you through the necessary steps to adding typography to your website pages.

Inserting typography in an article.

Your content management essentials are based on creating articles and then publishing them using the menus to display on your site. If you are struggling with creating and editing articles then this is another 'how to' so you will need to read this first.

Please note that the following tutorial will show you how to insert HTML (typography) into an article, the same procedure is used for Content Items and Custom modules.

Step 1 - Login

Login to your website administration Control Panel. You will have been given a url for this when the site went live. Enter your administrator username and password.

Step 2 - Navigation

Navigate to the article manager. Hover over the content link on the top taskbar, scroll down to article manager.

Step 3 - Article manager

When you have selected the article manager link, you will be sent to the article manager control panel. Select either edit (after selecting a particular content item) or new, depending on whether you want to add typography to an existing or new item.

Step 4 - View your typography styles

Select the rokcandy macros button at the bottom and you will be given a selection of style types to enter. You might need to consult the typography styles page in our Leonmedia how to section for examples.

Step 5 - Insert your typography style

Now select your desired typography style and it will be added to your article. Fill in the bits between the curly brackets (you should remove the curly brackets so they don't appear with your text).

Step 6 - Saving your article

You can now click save or apply for your changes to be saved.

You will not see the effects in the content editor, all styles are only visible on the frontend of your Leon media website.
