Responsive Web Design Testing Tool

Written by

What's a Responsive Website

Now that's a good question. Responsive is the new generation website standard (well it's not a standard yet - but trust me it will be soon). Things have been changing for a while but Christmas 2012/2013 saw an incredible shift in how people were surfing the internet. The new technologies like smartphone and (especially) tablets are now becoming the norm meaning that we - as web designers - need to ensure that a website can be viewed everywhere, whether or not you are using a laptop, PC, Mac, Kindle, Ipad, Iphone or anything that lets you surf the internet.

What this means in practice is that you have one site that works everywhere. If you have a wide screen the columns get wider and if you have a narrow the menu reduces and all the columns shuffle into 1 column underneath each other.

So there you have it. This is our demo page to give our clients an easy way to see their snazzy new responsive websites on different platforms.

And so the to responsive website testing tool

It's quite simple - enter your website in the box below, hit return and the page will populate with different views of your website based on different platforms.

240 x 320 (small phone)

320 x 480 (iPhone)

480 x 640 (small tablet)

768 x 1024 (iPad - Portrait)

1024 x 768 (iPad - Landscape)

Note: The content width may not be pixel perfect - 15px is added to the iframes to cater for the scrollbars
